Mede had a huge trade show and needed help standing out. They rented a 15' jumbo-tron and mounted it above their booth; now they needed content to display. The client wanted to be able to input messages in realtime and display them on the screen. They also wanted to be able to upload images. Additionally, they wanted to gather input from conference-goers and then graph and display this survey data on the screen. We used sockets for real-time control of the screen. We weren't sure how the browser would hold up after 10-hour days so we began testing immediately. We built different module types with different designs and functionality for each. We then built an interface that would control the timing and content displayed on the screen. We then built a mobile web app to gather the survey input; booth hosts would solicit people to take the quiz throughout the event via iPads. The client also shared the quiz to their social channels so those not in attendance could also participate. The application performed well and handled over one thousand survey responses, both from within the conference and via the web. The client loved it and wanted to spin this tool off into its' own product.
