As Technology Director at Tribal/DDB in San Francisco, I concepted and prototyped out this fun holiday web app that we released for Tribal's holiday card.
The idea was to mimic Siri (which was new at the time) and be able to ask Siri 'Is Santa Claus real?' etc and control the answers, tricking your kids.
Creative team wanted to do something with Siri but there was only limited access around what you could do with her at the time. I prototyped out a simple version of a web app that would work and we ended up going this route.
There was no way to record Siri's voice, and there was no way to get Siri to say what you wanted to say; I found a workaround though: Siri would read text messages you received. The copy team sent me the deck via text and I was able to successfully record Siri repeating all of the funny responses they wrote.
The other part was the animation of Siri - it was a very particular purply glowy thing, so I animated both the microphone input and the 'thinking' animation in After Effects and exported out a png sequence.
