
Challenge
Airbnb wanted to host a contest in France to showcase the unique Airbnb listings in the country.
Users submitted their listings, then judges narrowed down the submissions to three finalists in each region.
The public could then vote on their favorite listings in each of the 14 regions.
Implementation
The voting system needed to be secure enough to be accurate, but simple enough to keep people from dropping off before voting.
The contest received thousands of submissions. There were attempts at cheating the voting system but our backups were able to quickly detect & remove cheating patterns.

Result
The underlying goal with this contest was to show the French market that Airbnb understood their culture.
It helped Airbnb show that these were local homeowners who loved and celebrated their local cultures.
